About Course and Duration:
A competency-based program to train postgraduate students involving learning experience ‘derived from’ or ‘targeted to’ the needs of the community. The period of training is three years including the period of examination.
Degree courses recognized/ permitted by Medical Council of India are available in all medical and surgical subjects except for Psychiatry.
Eligibility :
Post Graduate – National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [NEET] held by National Board of Examination (NBE) As per The Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000 [ https://www.nmc.org.in/ , http://www.medadmgujarat.org/ ]
Scope / Outcome:
It trains the candidate in a specific medical or surgical specialty making him/ her an expert in the chosen field. Career options are unlimited ranging from private practice to being employed in hospitals or undertaking research in medical field. It also makes one eligible to pursue super specialty program of Doctorate of Medicine [DM] or Magister Chirurgiae [MCh].
