About Course and Duration:
The course is designed with a goal to create an “Indian Medical Graduate” (IMG) possessing requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and responsiveness, so that she or he may function appropriately and effectively as a physician of first contact of the community while being globally relevant. The period of training shall be four and half years with additional one year of compulsory rotating internship. A candidate has to pass out of the course in maximum 10 years from date of admission. The course is recognized by Medical Council of India.
Eligibility :

Scope / Outcome:
It trains a candidate in Western System of Medicine. A highly sought-after course, following high school, with a rewarding career, both in terms of job opportunities and satisfaction of serving people. Apart from doing private practice, there are ample job opportunities in medical college, hospitals/ nursing homes etc. It also makes one eligible to pursue specialty program of Doctor of Medicine [MD]/ Master of Surgery [MS]/ Diplomate of National Board [DNB] apart from applying for entrance to foreign medical programs.
