4) About the Department of Neonatology:
Shree Krishna Hospital, the teaching hospital of Medical College, is the only facility of its kind between the cities of Ahmedabad and Vadodara. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) was established in the year 2000 when MD and DCH Pediatrics programs started.
The NICU has been upgraded over the last two decades with state-of-the-art facilities and now has separate inborn and out-born NICU wings at different locations in the hospital. The bed occupancy in the department over the last 3 years ranges from 75 to 85 percent. The Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology handles complex obstetrics cases. The Dept. of Neonatology also receives critical neonates directly referred from PHCs, CHCs, and private Pediatricians in the districts of Anand and Kheda.
The department has two professors with experience in Neonatology of 13 and 10 years respectively, and one Assistant Professor with experience in Neonatology of 4 years. The faculty of the department are actively involved in leadership roles in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program of IAP and NNF for several years. Dr. Somashekhar Nimbalkar, Head of the Department is the editor and on the editorial board of several journals. He is a founder and trustee of the KMC Foundation, in India. The faculty of the department have published overall 110 papers in PubMed-indexed journals.

Instructions for Students who Have Secured Admission at this College for MBBS till 2nd Round:
At the outset, we congratulate you for deciding to join this profession and for selecting Pramukhswami Medical College, Karamsad, to begin your professional journey. The process for joining at medical college will be done on 8th September, 2023 from 09.00 am onwards. Classes will begin immediately after that.
Instructions for First Day (08-09-2023):
1. Students and Parents are to assemble in Lecture Hall 1 and Lecture Hall 2 as per the list on the notice board and website.
2. Only one (1) parent / guardian will be allowed with the student in the Lecture Hall. Any other family member accompanying the student shall have to wait outside the college premises till the orientation session is finished.
3. Please note that no visitor / parent will be allowed to stay in the hostel.
4. While coming to the college physically on 8th September, 2023 please ensure that you have the following documents (Self Attested) ready with you:

Dr Himanshu Pandya,(Dean Pramukhswami Medical College, constituent institution of Bhaikaka University) was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by MEU India. He was invited to deliver the Dr Rita Sood Memorial Oration on 12th August 2023. The title of the oration was 'Being an academic leader at an Indian medical college: my perspective'.
MEU INDIA, a virtual platform of about 25000 medical teachers, recognizes the efforts of teachers who have contributed significantly to improve medical education in India. MEU confers the “Lifetime Achievement award “to such HEROES and arranges an oration in memory of Late Professor Dr Rita Sood.
During the oration, Dr Himanshu Pandya described that Pramukhswami Medical College, a constituent institution of Bhaikaka University, provided a platform for becoming an academic leader.
